Southport Announces New Dealer Relationship in Maine and New York
Southport Boats of Augusta, Maine has announced a new Dealer Relationship in the Northeast with DiMillo’s Yacht Sales, which will see Southport inventory now at three locations in Maine – Portland, Freeport and Belfast – as well as Glen Cove, New York. The DiMillo’s group is partnering with current Southport Dealer Navtronics Marine Group, headed by Tim Greer. For the second year in a row, Tim has been Southport’s number one performing dealer. He determined that to continue that same trajectory the opportunity suggested by Christopher DiMillo, President of DiMillo’s Yacht Sales, would deliver market access beyond his current reach. The two principals have worked closely in support of navigational equipment at the DiMillo dealership so the expanded relationship became a natural next step.
DiMillo Yacht Sales also represents fellow Maine Builders Sabre and Back Cove Yachts, and is an ardent supporter of the Maine Boat building community. “It is absolutely fantastic to sign on such a strong dealer, and one who bases their brand here in Maine where Southport is built” said Skip Robinson, Managing Director of Southport Boats. “Chris and Tim understand the importance of the Maine Boat Building tradition and are going to be a major factor in our continued success in Maine and now in New York.”
DiMillo’s is equally delighted to represent another quality Maine built brand and support the local community and work force. Currently, Southport employs nearly forty people and continues to grow. For Chris DiMillo, it is a win-win scenario in representing the Maine product, but also for clients because of the quality and performance, “After sea trialing the Southport 33FE I knew DiMillo’s had to be involved with this product. The Hunt hull design combined with Southport’s focus on stability creates a ride that is beyond impressive,” continued DiMillo, “We pride ourselves in representing only the highest quality product, and Southport is a perfect fit.”
